Website and Social Media Support

Case Study: Website and Social Media Support for a Professional Nutritionist & Healthcare Professional
Client Overview:
A professional nutritionist and healthcare professional approached me for support with her website and social media. She had created her own app and needed assistance updating her WordPress website with relevant information and optimising its functionality.
Challenges:

  • AI-generated images were initially considered, but concerns over their realism and usage rights led to a review and replacement with more suitable images.
  • The client had a specific time window each month during which work could be completed, requiring meticulous time-blocking and prioritisation.
  • Three new pages needed to be added for Users/Patients, Health Practitioners, and Partners & Investors.
  • WordPress and 12 plugins were outdated, requiring careful updates to avoid potential site issues.
  • The website’s developer was no longer involved, necessitating independent handling of all updates and maintenance tasks.
  • The sign-up link required clarification to ensure proper redirection and integration with Mailchimp.
  • Readability improvements were needed for the Health Practitioners page.
  • The website’s aesthetics, including text colours and image selections, needed refinements for consistency and professional appeal.

Solutions Implemented:

  1. Website Updates and Maintenance:
    • Updated WordPress to the latest version after confirming that the website provider did not handle automatic updates.
    • Updated 12 necessary plugins to ensure smooth functionality and security.
    • Created and structured the three new pages (Users/Patients, Health Practitioners, and Partners & Investors) with appropriate content.
  2. Content and Readability Enhancements:
    • Reworded and shortened text on the Health Practitioners page, improving readability to a “good” status.
    • Added images to enhance visual appeal and engagement.
    • Addressed text colour consistency issues across pages to ensure a cohesive look, implementing the preferred dark blue font.
  1. Functionality and User Experience Improvements:
o Confirmed that the sign-up link should direct users to the contact page, ensuring seamless Mailchimp integration.
o Optimised SEO and working with existing templates to enhance discoverability and site navigation.
  2. Aesthetic and Visual Adjustments:
o Adjusted background colours and text formatting to align with the client’s branding preferences.
o Reviewed AI-generated images and, based on client feedback, opted for more natural-looking visuals.
o Incorporated client-provided images for a more authentic representation of the Health Practitioners page.

Client Feedback & Final Adjustments:

  • The client was highly satisfied with the Partnership page’s layout and colour scheme.
  • Adjustments were made to the Patient page to incorporate the preferred darker blue font and optimise image placement.
  • The AI-generated image on the Practitioner page was replaced with a more suitable alternative, aligning with the client’s preferences.
  • Further refinements were made based on ongoing client feedback to ensure satisfaction.

Outcome:
The updates significantly improved the website’s functionality, readability, and visual consistency. The structured approach to time-blocking and prioritisation ensured that all tasks were completed within the client’s designated time window. The client was pleased with the final outcome and provided positive feedback on the improvements made to her website. I now continue to support this client with weekly updates on social media regarding her professional services and updates related to her app and other promotional information.
